First sightseeing in Riga

St. Peter's church in the background was built in the 13th century and can be seen from the university. I think we are not going there because the wind would blow us away on the top floors!
This is the house of the blackheads and the office of the president. Mr president arrived with his bodyguards while we were taking pictures around here.
You can see the Freedom monument of Latvia behind us. It is very tall.
This is the opera (and ballet) house of Riga with this wonderful fountain sculpture!
Now we are thinking where to go on our next hikes!
We are using the public transportation here in Riga because it is faster during rush hours!

Goodbye London!

We had a goodbye dinner with traditional fish and chips, just without the fish, but with a veggie burger.

Then we took our plane back to Germany!

We took a nice walk along the channel to get to the Broadway Market in Hackney.

There were so many stalls with great food!

We had a great veggie burger for lunch...

...and something sweet for dessert.

Covent Garden

Today we visited Covent Garden, a large market in the heart of London
A part of the market is the "apple market" where you can buy crafts.
The sun was shining so beautiful and we enjoyed the time on the market
Behind Covent Garden you can walk through other shopping streets.
Oh look, a classic British phone booth
Of course we have to drink a classic English tea at tea time.
Further you find in the home country of Banksy Streetart at every corner...

London by night

We visited the famous department store Harrods! It's very impressive from the outside...

...and from the inside!

We also took a ride on one of the big red double deckers. We saw lots of exciting night life. You can watch a short film of Picadilly Circus here.

There are also many musicals in London

A trip to London

We took a weekend trip to London!

Here you can see as at a big underground station...
...and inside of the London tube, one of the most important transport systems for London.
Here we are at Victoria station. Lots of people everywhere.
We admired the great view from the Millenium Bridge.
We also went to see the London Eye, but we didn't take a ride, because it costs a fortune.
We had a great lunch from the supermarket. It's always fun to pick up stuff you couldn't get back home.
Of cause we also saw Big Ben and heard the famous bells.

Back home again...

Today we arrived safe in Stendal.
Maja, our little friend, was allowed to open the package
In the parcel she found tea, tea bags, cheese crackers, a chocolate bar, a postcard and our traveling box
We were in our box inside our  new sleeping bags and there were other sweets, cards and souveniers.
Look, what we brought with us.... THANKS to Myra, Amy and Jade for the nice time in Canada!
