That was our last day in Berlin! Thank you Jürgen to be our host in that nice city!

Tomorrow we will travel back home!

At the wall

This is a little part of the Berlin wall, which was fallen in 1989. It's placed at Potsdamer Platz now. 

At the Hessian Representation

 

We could visit th rpresentation of our federal state Hessen in Berlin. What a great impression!

 

At the Holocaust Memorial

 

If you take a trip to Berlin you also have to remember the dark times of German history... 

 

...so we visited the Holocaust Memorial.

 

 

Especially in times like this, with public discussion about borders and culture it's important to remember, where hate may lead.

Next point was at Reichstag-building.  The big house, where german Government come together for make rules for Germany.

Brandenburger Tor - first part of our sightseeing tour in Berlin

Today we had a great sightseeing tour in Berlin. We startet in Pankow......

 

 We had to wait 10 minutes for the “S-Bahn“

 

Finally our train took us to the city

Our first stop was at Brandenburger Tor

 

We wanted to go inside the legendary Hotel Adlon, but the girl at the door sayed no. Maybe our dress was not good enough.

Bergmann Curry

⁠⁠⁠Today we had Currywurst and Pommes for lunch at “Bergmann Curry" in Kreuzberg, after that we went to a nice Café for having a delicious cappuccino.

We arrived in Berlin

 

Yippiieeee, we arrived as well in Berlin. Now having dinner. Tomorrow we will eat Currywurst with french fries for lunch... see you soon.

A day in Berlin

After travelling to Finland and Russia we did some sightseeing in Berlin before going home again. 

The city is huge and the best way to go around is by bike.

Jani was driving us around and showing us the typical tourist sights. 

 We started at the famous Alexander Platz / Alex with the huge TV-Tower, it is 368m high and the highest building in Germany.

  As impressing as the TV-Tower is the Brandenburg Gate.

There were so many people doing photo stops us included. It is in between the very beautiful street "Unter den Linden" and "Straße des 17. Juni",

 both street are very nice and it was lovely doing a walk there. Jani also showed us her work place, the "Haus der Kulturen der Welt". It was build in the late fiftys as a congress hall and nowadays it is used as cultural centre with concerts, exhibitions, cinema etc.

From there you also have a great view to the workplace of Angela Merkel our chancellor.

 We also got a glimpse on the impressing Berliner Dom

and the Rotes Rathaus,

the workplace of the Mayor of Berlin. At the end of the day we drove to her most-liked place in Berlin the Rummelsburger Bucht and we saw a fantastic sunset.

 In summary we really liked the city and Jani promised us when we are back here she will show us more of her favourite city in the world.
