Hi everyone! This morning, my host Angel headed toward Kenting, whichi s one of the most popular tourist spots in southern Taiwan. It is located in the south coast on the small island (Taiwan). We will be staying in a resort tonight, just one night. This is the entrance of where we are staying. We just arrived
We seem to be so tiny on this Teddy bear!
It is the entrance of the resort
Okay, after leaving our backpacks at the resort. Angel rent a 50cc motorcycle and they planned to arrive in Eluanbi. There is a very famous lighthouse! But en route, we saw this very beautiful stone, called "Chuanfan Shi" (Chuanfan Rock). It also appears on postcards!
This is also Chuanfan Shi (Chuanfan Rock)
Since Chuanfan Shi is nearby, we are now at the beach where the stone is.
See? The light house is right here! We have finally seen the well-known spot!
Now time we walked along Seashore Path! Very excited to see what is there!
It says "Eluanbi"!
We are now leaving for the direction which "Seashore Path" points out.
The Minor Gorge - While corssing this coral reef gorge, one can hear the swishing of leaves from the forests above and occasionally spot Formosan monkeys.
The beach close to the resort we stayed in last night is quite quiet, quite hot, but I feel very peaceful.
Traditional Chinese lions! They can be seen everywhere, especially in front of temples!
Angel went back to Kaohsiung last night (July 14th) then arrived in Tainan City by bike with two of her classmates. The total distance was about 50 km and it took all of us about 6.5 hours to reach the city. Our first destination is, as you can see, Yen Ping Chun Wang Temple. The so-called "Yen Ping Chun Wang" is also known as "Konxinga", who lived in Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Konxinga came to Taiwan, and ruled the island, but he and his son did something meaningful, such as there was improvement on the educational system, and there was harvest etc. Naturally, he plays an important role in most of the Taiwanese's hearts.
This is the gate - The four characters just tell soldiers (there were lots of fights, of course!) that they had to be loyal to their leaders.
A God to worship
Wew, afraid we will be eaten by the dragon laying by the lake?
This one is just a typical pavilion aming all. We like them very much, especially when the weather is really hot! By the way, it has been really humid recently, and the temperature is too high, too. I think it is around 35C!

This is traditional sedan chair, which people living in ancient times used to carry brides. This one actually fits our small bodies.
Anping Fort! Everyone knows the place Anping in Tainan because it is so famous for its local culinary! Lots and lots of delicious food can be seen here. The thing we really want to recommend is shrimp rolls. Every tourist knows that when they are in Anping, eating shrimp rolls is definitely a must-do!
These tombs tell stories about the history of Tainan.

A day at th Cheng-Ching Lake

We are about to leave for Angel's home - We can tell, it is around 12:30 pm, and the temperature is higher than 35C. We cannot stand with it!

This is indeed how Cheng-ching Lake looks. It is very close to where Angel works. Most of the time, people come here ti ride bikes, and some are here for work, while some just drive or walk pass by.

Chen-Ching Lake Baseball Field! The Taiwanese baseball teams come to this field to compete. Perhaps we will not attend any of the baseball matches, but, at least we have finally seen the stadium, in person.

Hey there, can you see me, can you see me? I am sitting on the stone!

I am now in Niao-song Wetland Park. See the background? You could also call it a swamp, or something like that. So, it is a place set to protect birds, crabs and some rare spieces. This is the very first constructed wetland (artificial) in Taiwan, and was founded on 24th September, 2000. If you are lucky enough, maybe you will see some birds flying around the wetland!

Now we are standing in front of the entrance of Niao-song Wetland Park.

POP lesson

We are now eating hot pot with lots and lots of vegetables and meat, eggs!
It is Thursday night, and Angel's taking her POP lesson (POP stands for Point of Perchase). Now the paper is empty, we will wait to see what she will write!
The top two lines were written by the teacher, just to show Angel what would be the most ideal way to write POP, then the rest is her own writing. We think it is very fresh, since it is always fun to write! But using such a marker is so tough because we mostly use thin pens!
