A walk in old Riga

We went for a tour in old riga
 
 
 The dome cathedral was build by German archbishop Albert in 1209
We are in front of Latvian Radio bulding that has been there for ~100 years

European Parliament

We only visited the nayional library that is the office of European Parliament presidency
You can see the symbol at the wall is the same as on new 2 euro coin of Latvia

First sightseeing in Riga

 St. Peter's church in the background was built in the 13th century and can be seen from the university. I think we are not going there because the wind would blow us away on the top floors!
This is the house of the blackheads and the office of the president. Mr president arrived with his bodyguards while we were taking pictures around here.
 You can see the Freedom monument of Latvia behind us. It is very tall.
This is the opera (and ballet) house of Riga with this wonderful fountain sculpture!
Now we are thinking where to go on our next hikes!
We are using the public transportation here in Riga because it is faster during rush hours!

Looking for a place to sleep

At firstwe went to check hotels and hostels just in case.
Are you sure we have the correct address?
re we even in the right country?
Here we met our host at her Alma Mater and working place at Riga Technical university.

And tomorrow we will have a short walk through Riga

Goodbye London!

We had a goodbye dinner with traditional fish and chips, just without the fish, but with a veggie burger.

Then we took our plane back to Germany!

Broadway Market

We took a nice walk along the channel to get to the Broadway Market in Hackney.



There were so many stalls with great food!

And music!
We had a great veggie burger for lunch...



...and something sweet for dessert.
