At the top of the Dachstein

Today we have a special challenge: climbing the Dachstein!

 

  

Here you can see us making a little break because the way is long and steep.

 You can't see us here, but we are in the picture at the top of the Dachstein: in Merlin pocket.

On our way down we came across this cute little church.

 

 

The Dachsteinbahn

  During todays hiking tour we watched the car of the Dachsteinbahn high up in the air.

 

 Unfortunately not all mountaineers return home safe as we do. Visiting the memorial for the mountaineers, who had accidents on their tours gave us a queasy feeling.

 

At the Silberkarhut

 

We started todays hiking tour at the Silberkarklamm with crystalclear water.

 

 

We admired the wild waters.

 

These stonecretures help to find the way in winter when there is snow...

Climbing at the Stoderzinken

 

Today we went climbing at the Stoderzinken!

 

At the Friedenskirche

 

At the Friedenskirche there is the statue of the poet Peter Rosegger.

 

The quote says something like: 

What should I write in these mountains full of sunshine? I just can be quiet in devotion and be happy!  

More great view

 We enjoyed our last trips so much that we decided that we want more. So today we climbed the Stoderzinken (2048m).

 

Here you can see a little church on the way up.

 

 

We were rewarded for our effort by a great view to the Ennstal. 

At the Predigtstuhl

 

Today we made another exhausting but wonderful mountain tour.

 

 

This cross shall be a reminder of the counterreformation.

 

The Predigtstuhl is 1448m high and it was raining all day, but even though we had a wonderful day. 

A great view

 

 Today we went hiking on top of the Rittisberg and were rewarded with a great view.
