Back from Berlin

 

We're back from our trip to the German capital...

 

 

We brought a souvernir: A real piece of the Berlin wall...

 

 

...a shephard dog...

 

...and a new sticker. 

Back home in Kassel

 

After a long flight we are safe back in Kassel! Thanks to our great hosts for taking us on board of the AIDA and many great new countries! 

Casseler Freyheit

 Here's one of our adventures, that has taken place a few weeks ago.

We went to a fair called Casseler Freyheit.

At the First Aid Course

 Today we lerned a lot about first aid!

Imagine that we traveled around the world for such a long time without knowing how to help each other in case of emergency!

At the "Offener Kanal"

 We were on TV again. 

 We spent a whole day at the local indepent TV channel.

 We even got a job as moderators of the show "Hallo Kassel"!

At the empty Lac

 

Today we took a tour around the Lac in the Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe. 

 

 

Usually it is a lake, but the people, who are responsible for the park, let all the water run away to see, wether there is something that has to be taken care of. All the fish were set free in the river.

Today you could walk to the small islands in the lake. 

At the Viktoria Shelter

Today we visited an old shelter in Kassel: The Vikrotiabunker!

You can take tours through the shelter...

...and it was quite exciting down there in the dark!

We deliver the newspaper

 Yesterday we went to sleep late. One of Merlins cats put us to bed.

 We had to get up very early...

 ...because we helped Merlin delivering the newspaper!

Back homme again we snuggled with Merlins other cat.

At the indoor climbing wall

Today we went to climb in at the indoor climbing wall in Kassel!

 It was a lot of fun, but we felt a bit dizzy, when we looked down!

Today we have been on TV

 

A few weeks ago the TV station RTL asked us wether they could shoot a short report about our journeys...

We agreed with the idea.

We arranged to meet for an interview in the "Aue"

We visit the "Grimmwelt Kassel"

Our new hometown has a new a attraction: The Grimmwelt, a museum about the lifes of the most famous people who ever lived in Kassel - the Brothers Grimm.

Here you  can see a giant inkpot that shows how much ink the Grimms spent during their lifetime.

The Brothers Grimm are famous for their collection of fairy tales, but in fact their attempt to put together a complete dictionary of the German language is the greatest achievement of their worklife. Here you can see a collection of evidence for the use of the word "Zettel". They couldn't finish their work during their lifetime.

The long history of their dictionary is told in paper dioramas.

Butof course there are also fairy tales. For example: We met the frog prince.

We listened to Rumpelstiltkin  in different languages.

From the top of the building we had a great view over the roofs of Kassel.
